  Welcome to Acorn Aikido Leominster

Aikido is a Japanese martial art which was developed by Morihei Ueshiba during the late 1920's and 1930's.

Aikido is practised by blending with the motion of an attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on.

Literally "the way of harmony", Aikido training involves physical, mental, spiritual and ethical disciplines.  It includes empty-hand techniques, sword, stick and knife defences and is unique among the martial arts.

Acorn Aikido Club was founded in 1996 and is a member of Shobu Aikido UK and affiliated to the British Aikido Board.

Our aim is to teach and practise Traditional Aikido with guidance from George Forbes Sensei, 6th Dan, the founder of Shobu Aikido UK.

Classes are held on Sundays at Leominster Leisure Centre under the instruction of Lyn Goodman Sensei, 3rd Dan.

Newcomers and experienced Aikidoka are most welcome and you can try a free, taster session.  Please see our classes and location pages for more information.
